A few days ago, Chongqing Liangjiang New District held the capping ceremony of the main plant of BOE Chongqing’s 6th generation AMOLED (flexible LED) production line project. The total investment of the project is 46.5 billion yuan, and the total designed production capacity is 48,000 pieces of glass substrates per month. The products are mainly used in flexible Display products such as mobile phones, vehicles and foldable notebooks, and are expected to be put into production in 2021.
It is understood that the project was undertaken by China Construction First Bureau Construction and Development Company, with a total construction area of 970,000 square meters, of which No. 1 Factory Building is 541 meters long and 219 meters wide, with a construction area of about 523,000 square meters, equivalent to 73 standard football fields. It is the most advanced AMOLED super plant in the world and the largest super clean plant under construction in Chongqing.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Construction Development Company of China Construction First Bureau, the total construction period of BOE Chongqing’s sixth-generation AMOLED (flexible) production line project is only 28 months. At the peak of construction in January this year, the number of workers on the entire project exceeded 8,000. In March, after the project resumed work and production, in order to seize the progress, the project department of China Construction First Bureau chartered vehicles to Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan and other places to pick up workers in batches. In addition, the project department strengthened the epidemic prevention and control of on-site construction personnel, quickly activated the face recognition infrared temperature measurement system, and measured the body temperature through the infrared system, and entered the information according to the real-name system of the personnel. At the construction site, when the human body temperature exceeds 37.2°C, the system will automatically alarm, block the suspected patient from the door, and immediately report the information to efficiently and accurately detect the temperature of the personnel, which has made a strong scientific and technological guarantee for the project’s epidemic prevention and control.
In addition, the terrain of BOE Chongqing’s sixth-generation AMOLED (flexible) production line project is very different, with complex and steep geology. The height difference between the southeast and northwest corners of the factory area is 38 meters. The factory area covers an area of 672,900 square meters. The rock area is about 289,400 square meters, accounting for 43%. , a single crushing gun has a crushing volume of 20 cubic meters per day, which is difficult to crush and has the risk of over-breaking. In order to solve this problem, the project team invested more than 40 large crushing machines and 6 imported new crushers at one time, 24 hours of uninterrupted construction, and real-time monitoring of over-breakage. In addition, the construction party used the crushed rock slag and stone powder made of broken rock for laying in the temporary processing yard, realizing the organic combination of green construction and cost reduction and efficiency increase.

In recent years, BOE’s layout in the high-end display field has accelerated significantly. BOE has deployed two 6th-generation flexible AMOLED production lines in Chengdu and Mianyang, both of which have achieved mass production. After the completion of the 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line in Chongqing, it will have a synergistic effect with the 6th generation flexible AMOLED production lines in Chengdu and Mianyang to achieve mass production together. my country’s global competitiveness and voice in the flexible AMOLED field and semiconductor display industry.
