    The level of the hook depends on the mechanical properties of the finished hook. Rated lifting weight and grade, the four


 hook levels are specified by the rated lifting weight and the test load value, respectively expressed by the letters M, P, S, T.


    The basic design load of the hook is equal to the test load (Fe).


    M, P, S, T four levels of hooks on steel requirements:


    1) Steel should be made from open hearth furnace, electric furnace and oxygen top-blown converter;

   2), the steel should be killed steel, good forgeability, after appropriate heat treatment can meet the mechanical properties


 specified in the standard;


   3) When the steel is tested according to the provisions of YB/T5148, it should reach the grade of austenite No. 5 or finer.


   Remarks: S and T grade hooks require higher steel.


   The alloy steel for S-type hooks shall contain at least one of the following elements: nickel, chromium, molybdenum or 


elements of the same properties.


   The alloy steel for the T-class hook shall contain at least two of the following elements: nickel, chromium, molybdenum, 


boron or elements of the same properties.
